FOOTBALL CLUB DEFIBRILLATOR SERVICING & MAINTENANCE
Helping Football Clubs Maintain Rescue-Ready AEDs — and the Records to Prove It
Having a defibrillator on site is only part of the responsibility. Clubs also need to ensure their AEDs remain operational, appropriately maintained and ready for use when they are needed.
For football clubs and Academies, this can mean managing multiple devices across stadiums, training grounds, Academy facilities and other club locations — while maintaining clear records of checks, servicing and equipment condition.
Our football club defibrillator servicing programme provides comprehensive AED inspection, testing and calibration, together with an individual service report for every defibrillator serviced.
This gives your club a clear, professional maintenance record that can be retained as part of your medical, health & safety and compliance documentation.
Need help managing multiple AEDs?
We can provide a tailored servicing programme for your club, including multi-site visits, individual device reporting and automatic pad and battery expiry tracking, reminders and replacement ordering.
FOOTBALL AED REQUIREMENTS
AED Maintenance Matters
Premier League Academies
Premier League Youth Development Rules require Academies to ensure that a defibrillator and trauma equipment are maintained and accessible at venues where matches are played and coaching takes place.
EFL Clubs
EFL clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two are expected to maintain appropriate medical provision and ensure emergency equipment is available and ready for use. While EFL regulations do not set out a blanket requirement for annual third-party defibrillator servicing, clubs should be able to demonstrate that equipment is appropriately maintained, checked and fit for purpose.
The Wider Football Pyramid
FA regulations require facilities across Steps 1–6 of the National League System to have access to an AED on site. FA medical guidance also advises clubs to follow manufacturer guidance for the maintenance and servicing of medical equipment.
DOCUMENTED MAINTENANCE
Keep a clear record that your club's AEDs are being actively maintained, with an individual service report for every device.
Requirements can vary depending on competition, Academy status, venue and equipment. Clubs should refer to the applicable FA, league and manufacturer requirements.

While your AED is away, we can also provide a temporary loan defibrillator, helping your club maintain AED provision until your own device is repaired or replaced.
TESTING THAT GOES BEYOND A STANDARD AED SERVICE
Live shock testing is an important part of defibrillator servicing, and some providers do include it as part of their service.
Our Rescue Ready Service goes further.
We measure and record the actual shock energy delivered, compare the result against defined model-specific targets and tolerance ranges, and — where required — repeat that verification at paediatric impedance as well as adult impedance.
We also carry out a separate battery performance test. Each battery is tested under a 200 mA load, with the measured voltage recorded alongside the battery’s stated nominal voltage. This shows how the battery performs under demand, not simply whether the AED reports an acceptable battery status.
The result is a service report containing measurable evidence of both shock performance and battery performance — including adult and paediatric shock verification, model-specific energy targets and loaded battery voltage results.
LIVE ADULT & PAEDIATRIC SHOCK TESTING
Rather than relying solely on the AED’s internal self-test, we perform live shock testing using specialist defibrillator analysis equipment.
We perform live shock testing at both adult and paediatric impedances across all major makes and models. While live adult shock testing is offered by some servicing providers, paediatric shock verification is far less commonly included.
MODEL-SPECIFIC SHOCK OUTPUT TARGETS
Different defibrillators are designed to deliver different energy levels and operate within defined output tolerances.
For every make and model, we identify the expected first-shock energy and acceptable output tolerance range in joules for both adult and paediatric operation.
This allows the recorded result to be assessed against a defined technical target rather than simply marked as “pass”.
ACTUAL SHOCK ENERGY RECORDED
During testing, the actual energy delivered by the defibrillator is measured and recorded in joules.
Where required by the customer, we also carry out paediatric shock verification and record the paediatric shock output — providing a documented reduced-energy result alongside the adult shock result.
BATTERY LOAD TESTING
A battery can show an acceptable open-circuit voltage without necessarily performing the same way when placed under demand.
Each battery is tested under a 200 mA load, with the measured voltage recorded alongside the stated nominal voltage. This provides a documented indication of battery performance under demand.
NOT JUST PASS OR FAIL.
ACTUAL TEST RESULTS. RECORDED FOR EVERY DEFIBRILLATOR.
Your individual Rescue Ready service report provides documented evidence of the testing completed and the measurements recorded at the time of service — providing clear evidence of each AED’s condition and measured performance.

AED SUPPLY & ESTATE SUPPORT
NEED TO ADD OR REPLACE DEFIBRILLATORS?
Whether you’re expanding AED provision across your club, adding cover at a new location or looking to replace older devices, we can help you choose the right defibrillator for your requirements.
This may include replacing older or discontinued models such as the LIFEPAK CR Plus, or simply adding further AEDs across your stadium, training ground, Academy or other club facilities.
Rather than recommending a particular model simply because it’s what we sell, we’ll consider how and where the AED will be used, who may need to use it, adult and paediatric requirements, expected usage and how the device will fit alongside the rest of your defibrillator estate.
We can then recommend and supply suitable equipment and incorporate new devices into your ongoing servicing, reporting and expiry-management programme.
